CLEANSE REVIEW: POWER COLON CLEANSE
  OVERALL RATING: MISLEADING

       Cleanse Review: Power Colon Cleanse
       Rating: Misleading
       Advertising Price: Free Trial
       Actual Price: $79.95 Every Month
Side Effects: Significant reduction in wallet size
       Website: www.powercleanse-freeoffertrial.com

BOTTOM LINE:

- Power Colon Cleanse is NOT free, or anywhere close. Their deceptive advertising is trying to convince you to sign up for a monthly fee that will haunt you for months.

- The incredible amount of misleading marketing tactics that the website uses makes one wonder what the company is hiding as far as quality. There is no product information whatsoever on the website as far as ingredients.

Buyer Beware of New Power Cleanse

It seems that nearly every day a new “breakthrough” colon cleansing product is being proclaimed by the Internet marketing machine to be the best ever, the cure to all the ails you, and the answer to your prayers for optimal health. And while colon cleansing is a vital step in keeping the body healthy and many of these products are quite good, a recent entry on the colon cleansing scene Power Cleanse, has taken its marketing efforts a step too far by employing four of the most widely used guerilla marketing tactics to scam its customers into making a purchase.

Unscrupulous Power Cleanse Marketing Tactic #1

Power Cleanse is a master of disguising its terms and conditions so subtly that the buyer doesn’t even realize that they are there at all. There is nothing visible on the Power Cleanse site that indicates to the consumer what they are going to be charged for Power Cleanse’s “free trial”. While the tiny, miniscule terms and conditions in very small print at the bottom of the order page claims that the “free trial” will only cost $5.95 for shipping, it goes on to literally spell out that each month, this company will bill your credit card for seventy-nine dollars and ninety-five cents (as opposed to just wording it as $79.95). The consumer must make a conscious effort to find this information, or they would only realize the charge when it appeared on their credit card statement. This is a common ploy among many fraudulent companies that lure their customers in with “free shipping” just to get their credit card numbers!

Unscrupulous Power Cleanse Marketing Tactic #2

The Power Cleanse site has a timer ticking down from five minutes from the moment you click on their page. Purportedly, if you don’t order before the timer runs down to zero, you won’t get the free trial. A quick test of this reveals that the offer is still available after more than a twenty minute wait. By adding a sense of urgency to their offer, Power Cleanse appeals to the viewers of its page to buy now or risk having to pay more. What a sneaky way to sell something!

Unscrupulous Power Cleanse Marketing Tactic #3

Another disturbing marketing trick that Power Cleanse uses to peddle its wares is by creating the illusion of celebrity endorsement of their product. While it’s true that many celebrities enjoy optimal health via the positive effects that colon cleansing can bring, there’s no record of celebrities like Angelina Jolie or Jennifer Anniston endorsing Power Cleanse in particular as their product of choice. Nor does the Power Cleanse site say that the celebrities pictured on its site endorse their product. They create the illusion of endorsement by plastering these celebrity’s photographs below the tag line “the secret that is taking Hollywood by storm”. If someone of the caliber of Angelina Jolie was in fact endorsing this product - that fact would be included in the headline for their entire site. Just what were Power Cleanse’s marketing team thinking with this one? Perhaps that Western society strives to be like the beautiful people that we see on the silver screen, and by intimating that a “star” uses a product, that product is given instantaneous appeal to a certain (huge) group of buyers.

Unscrupulous Power Cleanse Marketing Tactic #4

Power Cleanse also gives the illusion of having credible endorsements from such news networks as CBS, MSNBC, and mega popular health information website Web MD on their site. In fact, an entire side bar is dedicated to giving the appearance that these three entities endorse the Power Cleanse product but the statements beneath the CBS, MSNBC, and Web MD logos on the Power Cleanse site are actually just statements about colon cancer – a topic that all three have covered in the past. To the unsuspecting consumer, however, a first glance makes it appear that CBS, MSNBC, and Web MD endorse this product. This is a common smoke and mirrors tactic among marketers who are interested in one thing – getting out the initial product so that they can continue to charge your credit card.

Although a good colon cleansing product can help the user to feel vibrant and healthy, lose unwanted weight (especially stubborn belly fat), give you a flatter stomach, reduce gas and flatulence, put an end to constipation, remove toxins from the body, and give you an overall increased level of energy – there is no need for a company that truly has a good product to offer to attempt to “fleece” the American consumer using the marketing tactics that Power Cleanse has in place. Reputable colon cleansing products basically sell themselves and do not need to resort to these types of dishonest, borderline criminal tactics to make a sale. For these reasons, the buyer should beware of the Power Cleanse product, choosing instead to use a proven formulation for colon cleansing that they can trust 100%.
