“Piagra” – Making Your Own Super Viagra
Everyone has heard of Viagra. It is probably the most famously produced non-life saving pharmaceutical of all time and it’s been taken by millions. That little blue is about as well known as the cure for Polio by most people and I tend to end up in conversations about its effectiveness all too often.
Recently, when I was having a conversation about what Viagra does that natural substances often do not, the use of a metabolism inhibitor to boost the effects of Viagra came up. Now, I had heard of Piperine before and have even written about it at length on this site, but I had not heard this little tidbit and I was intrigued, as I am sure many of you are.
I did a little research and, after talking to a close friend in the industry, learned that there might be something to my friend’s assertion. I’ll summarize for you what my research pal told me about the possible effects and what you might expect as a result.
Basically, sildenafil (the clinical name for Viagra) is metabolized by CYP3A4, an enzyme that occurs in the small intestine and liver among other places. When Viagra is taken, a large percentage of it is metabolized before it reaches its destination, the blood stream. After that, even more of it is destroyed by the liver before it can start to work. Throw in the natural metabolism process and only about 20% of the total dosage is still active after 4 hours.
Piperine has an interesting effect on the CYP3A4 enzyme though. It inhibits its production temporarily, making it possible to cut the waste of Viagra in the bloodstream multi-fold. The Sildenafil in your body will circulate and reach its destination without having to fight its way through your intestines or liver and you will end up with that much more of the Viagra working. Piperine + Viagra = Piagra, or Super Viagra.
Basically, you get cheap Viagra in the end as a 100 mg dose becomes the equivalent of a 250 mg dose. Of course, you don’t want that much Viagra in your system as the results could be more than a bit unpleasant, and could make it last a bit longer than you would like. You could technically overdose on Viagra by taking the recommended dosage, so this isn’t something to mess around with.
For the sake of your health and your wallet, if you are taking Piperine with your dosage, make sure to cut the pills in quarters and test that out, and later increase it to half a pill if you have to. You more than double your supply, save money, and get the same effects.
Also, there’s another important factor to consider – You may be on medications that Piperine has been known to exhibit it’s effects on. Piperine doesn’t always increase efficacy. Sometimes it can reduce the effectiveness of a medication to the point where it’s like you didn’t take anything at all. So while you may have a raging erection with a Piperine/Viagra combo, you could put yourself at risk if you are taking other medications.
Always consult your physician before taking any supplement with a prescription medication. Boosting the effectiveness of your Viagra is not worth having another medication stop working or causing yourself long term discomfort or damage.
