Statements that says it can stop progression of arthritis or build cartilage is not supported by evidence-based medicine, not in science. Given the lack of evidence about its safety check with your doctor before using this supplement.

Glucosamine is commonly used as a treatment for osteoarthritis, although its acceptance as a medical therapy varies.
Glucosamine Sulfate is very similar to glucosamine HCL (hydrochloride) in effectiveness.

Glucosamine sulfate alone is okay, but you should avoid glucosamine sulfate in combination with other ingredients like potassium or salt. However, it is better to consult your doctor before going for this supplement.

Hi, would combine with chondroiton and MSM.....proven can aid to restore/rebuild cartilage........also GREAT is SAM-e, will improve overall wellbeing.......understand that cartoilage similar to sponge and can be brittle, therefor you need to use hylauronic acid to maje synovial fluid............use glucosamone/MSM creme topically and you will see for yourself how it helps then can take internally (same w/hjylauronic acid) buy at "Puritan.com"(ask for 70%off sale) or vitacost.com What is safe? People have something negative to say about anything, too much water will drown you.........glucosamine widely used.......arthritis is inflamtion so anything antiinflamatory will help, ie. ginger, tumeric w/bromelain, borage or evening primrose oil, boswellia,zinc/copper, fish oils, more water (but don,t drown yourself) and remember to make food your medicines and your medicine foods. Also keep in mind that herbs like tumeric, ginger and fish oils will not only be helping your arthritis but many areas of your body and life. God Bless, Charles
