Does yawning bring more or less air in to the lungs?

Yawning stretches out the lungs and nearby tissues preventing tiny airways in the lungs from collapsing. It occurs around the time of shallow breathing when tired, bored and just arising from bed.

I presume your question relates to whether more / less air goes inside the lungs during yawning. The answer is more air goes into the lungs. In fact, yawning brings in more air to the lungs.

Yawning is a process which giving signal as a alertness to the brain. So once you yawn you automatically say that you are already sleepy and needs to rest or stay active.

No, it will not cause lung problems. This will only give you an indication that you’re sleepy.

Yawning is only a sign that a person is sleepy. Yawning is also a form of breathing exercise and can be a good way to strengthen the lungs.

Yawning is a sign of low oxygen level in the lungs. If we are sleepy there is a lack of oxygen that is not going to the brain from the lungs and when we yawn you feel that you’re not that sleep anymore.
