CureYourBody.com is excited to announce the launch of
its new forums. The next several months will be critical to setting up the
forums the way you want them to be. So
if you feel we should add more categories or sub forums, please let us know.
We'll add sub forums on our own as well, if we feel a
large number of posts are being made on a specific topic. For example, "Colon Cleansing" was added as a sub forum to the Gastroenterology forum since there seems
to be a lot of posts for that specific subject.
There is no treatment for completely formed stretch marks. If they are developing stage, then you can apply cream containing tretinoine 0.025 per cent. For fully developed stretch marks, there is no permanent solution. However, you can try glycolic acid containing cream to lighten it and blend it with the surrounding skin.
There is also a product called Bio Oil which a lot of my friends have sworn by that helps to help the appearance of stretch marks. You can use it while you have them, or after theay are formed (though I'm not sure how effective this would be).
All I know is that after 2 C-sections there is NOTHING that is going to help me out aside from a tummy tuck : ) Sorry, I just went to the dermatologist and he said that the only thing he has found to help at all are laser treatments, but even they are not going to be worth the money. He also said that that $150 stri-whatever is just modern-day snake oil. Trust me, I wish that I had better news! Good luck.
Its said Prevention is better than cure - and that def applies for stretch marks. However, if you couldn't prevent them its important to start treating them as soon as you notice them, the earlier the better.
You could try an OTC stretch mark cream. If that doesn't work, new treatment techniques of Dermabrasion and chemical peels claim to help with stretch marks. The last option is always Laser Surgery.
I also wanted to add that my dermatologist said that there's no topical treatment that works. He said that lasers can help a bit, but that even the $150 a jar stuff doesn't do squat. Just a cautionary note.
Use skin firming lotions if the stretch marks are just new. Keep skin as light as possible as stretch marks no longer tan and will stand out when skin darkens

Retin-A creams help reduce stretch marks. Try to ask your dermatologist or skin care provider, especially if your skin reacts even to minor or OTC treatments.

Can we undergo laser treatment in removing stretch marks?
Laser surgery can be used to address unwanted stretch marks. Insurance may not cover stretch mark removal because it is a cosmetic procedure (even if the stretch marks are severe).
You can do this. Get a capsule type vitamin e and cut it in half and rub it to the part of the skin that has stretch mark. You can also use pure cocoa butter, lanolin and almond oil.

Is this only for fresh stretch marks or does it work for 6 year old marks?
Yes, petroleum jelly is an effective and cheaper way to remove stretch mark. Apply ample amount of petroleum jelly on your stretch marks once and do this every day until the marks are gone.
There are many ways to remove stretch marks effectively but you can not trust all of them. Choose the one which suits you and has great past records. Stretch marks can be cured through home remedies, herbal treatment, cosmetic surgery, homeopathic treatments etc. But among all these treatments there are some pits which fails to keep its own promise.
In these situations coolbeam laser treatment is the best treatment that you can get to remove stretch marks completely. This treatment is not harsh, painless and inexpensive too. I think there are different ways to remove stretch marks effectively.Applying petroleum jelly, cosmetic creams are the cheapest way, but requires lot of time to heal the stretch marks while,a cosmetic surgery is costliest but solves the problem immediately.
According to your budget, choose the best possible way.
