Immunizations can save lives and lower risk of diseases. But nowadays, there's just too many shots a kid must get. Decades ago, no one had to undergo these many vaccines. How come kids need all these now?

I believe they do need that many immunizations bcoz we have more viruses and pollution now. So many more factors that attack our immune system.

Prevention is better than cure. I don't think twice when it comes to vaccine expenses because my son is almost 6 years old now but he haven't experience any serious health problems.

Yes, there are a lot of them, and some of them can be costly. Some can also result to some side effects, such as soreness/redness/swelling on the injected area, some fever, some loss of appetite. However, as they say, prevention is always better than cure.

I agree with everyone here. Immunizations are one of the best ways to prevent diseases, and our kids need all the protection we can give them.

When it comes to my kids, it's better to be safe than sorry. wink

I think there are more vaccines required because "old" diseases keep popping back up. My M-I-L said that when my husband was in school, they didn't have to have mumps vaccines because they thought that the disease had been wiped out. WRONG! I always vaccinate.

My point here is that babies need immunization from common and pandemic diseases. Babies are prone to common diseases and needs vaccination or immunization to strengthen their immune system.

I agree on this. Babies need immunization so that they could be protected from diseases and ailments. We also have to do this every 2 years to upgrade the protection from new sickness.

It depends on the type of immunization meds that your pediatrician will use. Sometimes it could last only up to a year and max 5 years. Ask your pedia for the complete information about immunization.

In genral they need immunization to strengthen their immune system. Babies, when they are born, are not yet safe from harmful bacteria and viruses. This immunization shots will prevent them to keep away from some deadly diseases.
