Healthier fats are mono unsaturated fat. These are found in olive and canola oils, unsalted nuts and seeds, and natural nut butters.

Monounsaturated fats (MUFAs) lower total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol) while increasing HDL cholesterol (the good cholesterol). Nuts including peanuts, walnuts, almonds and pistachios, avocado, canola and olive oil are high in MUFAs. MUFAs have also been found to help in weight loss, particularly body fat.

Polyunsaturated fats also lower total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol. Seafood like salmon and fish oil, as well as corn, soy, safflower and sunflower oils are high in polyunsaturated fats. Omega 3 fatty acids belong to this group.

Avocado smoothies are the best.

I also get Omega 3 from tuna and cod liver oil. When it comes to cooking oil, stick with canola.

Here are some foods that has less fat. Grilled skinless chicken, tofu, green veggies, green & red peppers, oatmeal, "lite" string cheese, skim milk, tuna, lowfat cottage cheese, lowfat yogurt.

Our body only needs at least 5% of the mono saturated fat or 1mg a day to have a healthy diet plan.

Try to eat tuna because it gives omega 3 fatty acid. This type of fat is good for the heart to prevent problems and high blood pressure.

Omega 3 or fish fat is good for the body. It helps enrich the blood and also a good way to detoxify the body.

Yes. I’m eating tuna as part of my protein intake. Tuba gives 2 essential fish oils which are omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. They are also good for people who have heart problems and lowers cholesterol.

Everyone's raving about Omega 3 huh?

This just in: (Bloomberg) Omega-3 fatty acids, abundant in the organs of oily fish including salmon and sardines, didn’t help heart attack patients prevent another cardiac event, a study found.

There are no healthy fats. Even fish fat is bad for us, I suggest that we should avoid it.

Hey joe, michael and james - that is just one study... it may be wrong. Can you also try checking out the Dr. Houser's forum? I think he's got pretty extensive details about Omega 3.

I have read an article on the internet about fats. It says that polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats are the healthiest fats. We can also get these from sunflower seeds.
