How true is it that drinking 2 standard sized drinks of alcohol everyday reduces heart disease?
What are your thoughts on this?

Based on the older people I know, I say Id have to agree with this. Moderate alcohol drinking helps the heart.
I did hear though that this standard moderate alcohol drinking isnt as beneficial in women and women drinkers have a higher risk of having heart disease.

Alcohol free red wine is good for the heart because it has phytochemicals and antioxidants that helps prevents blood clots and plaque formation in arteries and best with your evening meal.

I think the key here is moderation. According to research, moderate drinking is one drink per day for women and less than two drinks per day for men. Moderate drinking raises the good cholesterol levels, lowers BP, and can inhibit blood clot formation (clots can lead to stroke/heart attack). So yes, it is somehow good for the heart, but think about your liver, too.

For me, best thing is not to drink at all. If only that's easy. Haha. bouncy smile
