Ginseng is the English name for this extensively used Chinese herbal medicine. Its botanical/genus name Panax means "all-heal" in Greek. It is widely used in Chinese medicine as an anti-aging herbal medicine.
Ginseng is promoted as an aphrodisiac, adaptogen i.e. a product that increases the body's resistance to stress, and as a nourishing stimulant. According to traditional Chinese Medicine, Panax Ginseng promotes Yang energy, improves circulation, increases blood supply, revitalizes and aids recovery from weakness after illness, stimulates the body.
However, it has been difficult to verify the medicinal benefits of ginseng using science, as there are contradictory results from different studies, possibly due to the wide variety and quality of ginseng used in studies.

There are ginseng tabs out there, some with vitamin E.
I take tea with ginseng, it's been part of my day. I dont know if it's what making me feel younger. But i definitely do not feel weaker or older.

If you have a ginseng root and want to create a tea or drink out of it here are some procedures in creating whole ginseng root into tea:
1) Chop the root into coarse pieces. (This will allow more of the root's properties to be extracted in water than the whole root would)
2) Measure out 1 tsp. root per cup of water
3) Put root into a pot with cold water.
4) Cover pot and bring to a boil
5) As soon as it starts boiling, turn the temperature to the lowest setting, and simmer the root for 15 minutes. If you boil it instead of simmering it, you will lose a lot of the root's properties.
6) Let it steep at least 6 hours. The longer you steep, the more properties will be extracted. I generally make my root teas at night before going to bed, so that it will be ready when I wake up, and I make enough to last me the whole next day.

Other benefits of ginseng are mostly for men. It gives more energy production and relieves stress fast. These elements only apply to certain types of ginseng.

What I have seen that ginseng is good for relieving stress, increasing memory and improving our immune system to fight colds, flu and cough. I don’t have any idea if it could enhance our sexual urge.

That’s also what I learned from my friends that ginseng can improve your sex drive. This is actually good for old people because it’s a supplement for boosting memory.

Scratch off that ginseng tea is good for enhancing sexual drive. Ginseng is a good supplement that can give more energy especially for elders and eliminate arthritis problems.

How many liters did you make in this recipe?
