If you're trying to lose weight, try to keep a food diary. It has helped me so far.

When you know how may pounds you need to shed off and how many calories you need to eat, a diary will help you monitor yourself. You can also count the calories as you go through the day. I've found the calories of most foods in the internet so it's quite easy to calculate.

My trusty diary kept me on a tight watch on my food. It's not masochistic or denying your pleasures. It's simply a smart way to manage your daily nutrition and appetite. By keeping a diary for a couple of months, I already lost 5 pounds and have a trimmer waist.

makes sense. I've started with the 6 small meals a day. logging them in a diary will help me monitor myself.

Good one.

I do this too. It makes me aware and helps me to disciplien myself. It becomes more like a contract with myself. Nobody's imposing. It reminds me that no one is commanding me to do this and im not doing it for anyone but me.

I think this is a fabulous idea, I make all my clients keep one and once a week we go over it,
Some times its good for them they get to brag lol and sometimes I get to lay into them lol
Basically if you cheated on something, you can find out what time of day it was you did this and why and if there is a helathy alternative to the snack attack!

Keeping a food diary makes you accountable to yourself (and your trainer if you have one).

I think it's a good boost to one's goal of slimming down. It reminds you each day and each meal that you should take care what you put into your body.

Im not so good and consistent when it comes to writing down stuff regularly but i did try to keep a food diary and it lasted for 1 and a half months. basically if your diet and workout is already ingrained in you, you might not need this anymore to check yourself. if your goals are clear and you push yourself just right and treat yourself every once in awhile then maybe you wont need that diary anymore.

but whatever helps right? wish you all the best in your journey to a great bod!

Keepping a food diary really works. Because you can track down what food that you have eaten and how many pounds you shed off or gain.

This is an effective way to track down your food intake and body weight. In keeping a food diary you can monitor the amount of fats, fiber, protein etc that you consumed on the day. It is also a great help for people who are on a diet.

I have tried this thing when you put what you eat in a journal. It’s a very complicated thing to do you have to compute each calorie and fat that you eat and I’m not good at math. smile

If you are serious to lose weight then it’s better to do a journal. The journal will help you get the information about the food you eat, how many calories needed and menu for the day.

Aside from losing weight, keeping a food diary is also vital if you have certain food allergies.

Several years ago, my sister collapsed after eating pancakes. She was brought to the hospital and the doctor, certainly, asked what she ate prior to the incident. However, she can't blame the pancakes itself - it can be the butter, or the syrup, or the fruit on top.

Going back to my point, keeping a food diary will make it easy for you to track which types of food you are allergic to, and ultimately avoid eating them to prevent any further unfavorable incidents (such as the one that I've previously mentioned).

I kept a food and diet diary before and it’s a great way to track your weight. You can also put the food that you’ll eat for the week. Since I’m and overly compulsive person, I even jot down the amount of calories, carbohydrates etc I eat.

Good to know that. I hope you will keep this and be eager to know how many calories and fats you are eating.

Did you separated the calories of the food and how much you lose on each week? Give us more feedback on this one.

I just wrote down all the foods I’m eating during the day and measure them. I only just measure my carbohydrate consumption. I also jot down how many calories I’m getting from the food that I’m eating and also put in the amount f calories I lose when I’m exercising.

I’m on my 4th month tracking down my diet and exercises. It really feels good to see how many pounds you lose every week and you can look for the previous food you have eaten.
