There is a lot of talk about cholesterol, good cholesterol, bad cholesterol, total cholesterol and so on. But, what are Triglycerides? Are there any good and bad Triglycerides too? I need forum members assistance to answer this question.

Triglycerides are another type of fat floating in the blood. Like bad cholesterol, high level of triglycerides increases your risk of cardiovascular problems. Ideal number is below 150 mg/dl.

Exercise and avoiding fatty food will prevent us from getting triglycerides. This type of bad cholesterol can cause heart problems and hypertension. This could also build a cloth that will wrap around the heart.

Triglycerides are the bad cholesterol in our body. We can also eat foods rich in omega 3 to supplement to replace this bad cholesterol.

I take green tea and artichoke tea to lower my cholesterol. You can also eat oatmeal since this is the well know food to remove bas cholesterol.

You can find artichoke tea in supermarkets. Sometimes they also label this as green tea. Just ask the supermarket attendant to get artichoke tea.

Since this is bad cholesterol, my doctor suggested that we take Lipitor as maintenance med to lower down triglycerides.

Aside from Lipitor (which is the common cholesterol meds), is there other meds to maintain cholesterol level?

Here are lists of drugs you can use to lower down cholesterol level. They are fluvastatin, lovastatin, pravastatin, rosuvastatin and simvastatin. If you are taking medications for cholesterol, better to consult a doctor and give this list to him to verify which is better for you.

If you don't have cholesterol problems and you want to avoid high cholesterol, better to eat more fruits because they can give more fiber to remove excess fats and oils.

Well that's good for people who do not have cholesterol problem. You can also consume them by juicing some of the veggies and fruits.

You cannot be sure about that. Have you checked lately on your cholesterol level?

Fruits like pine apple and pomelo can help lower bad cholesterol. It has fiber that magnetized the cholesterol and some fatty deposits out of the body.

I think so. Since triglycerides are bad for the body that’s also what saturated fats are.
