Total Cholesterol is the sum of all types of cholesterol in the blood. LDL is bad cholesterol while HDL is good cholesterol. Bad cholesterol can clog arteries which increases the risk of heart attack and stroke. HDL is known as good cholesterol because, it reduces the amount of bad cholesterol in your system.

I hope it helps.

Your total blood cholesterol includes LDL (bad cholesterol), HDL (good cholesterol) and Triglycerides. A complete fasting lipid profile test will show your total cholesterol.

You can drink Lipitor to lower down your cholesterol level. Try to drink fish oil supplement because of its omega 3 and 6 fatty acids can help to lower the bad cholesterol.

Ooops!! Don’t even try to drink omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. In a recent study by US FDA, it was found out that it doesn’t help lower down cholesterol.

I think it’s the evaluation of the LDL and HDL. Doctors get the result of these two and determine if the body has more or fewer bad and good cholesterol.

That’s it John. Total cholesterol is the result of a blood test that determines the good and bad cholesterol. Doctors will prescribe their patients meds to lower bad cholesterol if they have exceeded its normal level.

Yes, you are correct. If you can in any way avoid saturated fat then your bad cholesterol won’t affect the good ones.

You can drink Lipitor to lower down your cholesterol level.

Lipitor is something that my Aunt uses and has been very successful at keeping her cholesterol lowered.

Yes, we now know that lipitor is the best way to lower cholesterol level. Is there some natural way you know to lower it without taking this medicine?

Certain foods lower the cholesterol level. Oatmeal contains soluble fiber, which reduces your low-density lipoprotein (LDL), the "bad" cholesterol. Such foods as kidney beans, apples, pears, psyllium, barley and prunes also contain soluble fiber.

Studies have shown that walnuts can significantly reduce blood cholesterol. Rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, walnuts also help keep blood vessels healthy and elastic. Almonds and some other nuts appear to have a similar effect.

But all nuts are high in calories, so a handful will do.

Yes, I agree with you. Peanuts have lots of calories and take some ample amount nly. Some people doesnt like oatmeals and to substitute that you can eat wheat cereals and it has a ;lot of soluble fibers also.
