If I’m walking everyday going to my office, is that an exercise for the day?

Yes, it is considered exercise but it may not be enough. 10,000 or more steps should be taken everyday, using a pedometer.

You can find a pedometer almost anywhere, in the sports department. Wal-Mart

Based on what I have read, you should walk at least 10,000 - 12,000 steps a day. Regardless to the count of steps, walking at least 30 min of the day will keep you "fit".

That’s what I’m doing now when I’m going to the office. My office is quite near at my house then I can walk from and to it but I don’t count on the steps I’m taking.

That's good for you allister. It would help you exercise and the environemtn because of less pollution from your car.

This is very good. You would be amazed to know how many people live close to their place of employment and will still drive. My daughter and I just had that conversation. She is a ten minute walk away from her job and instead of walking she will call me, which I am a fifteen min drive from her. She works days so the morning walk would be quite pleasant. The weather here is real nice in the mornings.

You better tell your daughter to walk instead of driving her off to work. It’s economical and environment friendly.

Yeah, she's been working on it. She actually walked two days last week. That's a start.

That’s a really good start. She can try to walk 3x a day until she can do it every day.
