Can anyone inform me what is this Hoodia about?

I heard about Hoodia and it has lots of brand names. I don't know which ones are effective, and if it is really effective in the first place.

Can anyone share their experience or knowledge about this? Thanks.

I haven't taken Hoodia but I read some articles about it.

It's a succulent plant from Africa that was eaten by the natives since hundred years ago. Lots of people, including the natives, claimed that eating the plant raw has controlled their hunger pangs. In recent years, the extracts has been developed into anti-obesity drugs to be marketed all over the countries.

Further tests are still being done and it has not been approved by the FDA as an anti-obesity agent. Though, claims as an appetite suppressant has been approved but promotion for cure, treatment or disease prevention violates the Food and Drug act.

In purchasing this product, you should check the label and claims to see if it's truthful or not.
