When I went to work the other day, I started sneezing and blowing my nose for half an hour. I felt my nose all clogged
up and it was so uncomfortable to work.

I took some Claritin but it didn't work. Right now, I can see my mucus changed from whitish to yellow-green color.

Is this allergy or sinusitis?

Your sinuses might have been blocked by your allergy attack. Claritin works better when taken on a regular basis before allergy symptoms occur.

Right now, you may use a nasal decongestant spray regularly for up to 3 days to relieve you of your congestion.
Sinus saline rinse is also helpful.

If you develop a fever after 2-3 days, see your doctor for appropriate treatment.

My mom is also experiencing sinusitis and I would like to know if surgery is the best option.

I would check out all of my other options before getting surgery - that is one area that sucks to be operated on. Try getting a saline rinse from your pharmacist - they feel funny, but work wonders.

To check if its an allergy, you need to get an allergy test done which will show you what you are allergic to. Also, since your meds didn't work, why don't you try irrigation of your nasal passages with saline solution. This helps in case of sinus problems.

The natural remedy or treatment for sinuitis or allergy is honey. Taking it for the first time must be 1tbps everyday for 3 weeks and take it every 2 days the next 2 weeks then every 5 days every week.

I think Vitamin C is also a supplement to prevent sinusitis. Since this is a problem over the sinus, the best medication is to get the immune system stronger to block any allergens affecting the sinus.

I have read on the internet about natural treatment for sinusitis attack. Here are some lists you can do. Putting eucalyptus oil on boiling water and inhale its vapor, juices from veggies and drinking vitamin c supplement.
