Colon polyps are small growths in the colon that are normally non-life threatening. However, colon cancer may more likely progress in people who have developed colon polyps. Medical practitioners and researchers have been recommending a high-fiber diet to prevent the development of colon polyps and thus the likely growth of colon cancer later on. They point out to the presence of high amounts of calcium and vitamin D in such a diet.

Adding calcium, plenty of fruits, vegetables and whole grains in you diet to prevent colon polyps. Limit the intake of alcohol and fats.
