CureYourBody.com is excited to announce the launch of
its new forums. The next several months will be critical to setting up the
forums the way you want them to be. So
if you feel we should add more categories or sub forums, please let us know.
We'll add sub forums on our own as well, if we feel a
large number of posts are being made on a specific topic. For example, "Colon Cleansing" was added as a sub forum to the Gastroenterology forum since there seems
to be a lot of posts for that specific subject.
I have a nephew that's on this. He tells me he only eats maybe 1 very small meal a day at the end of the day when he's most hungry. And then the entire day he starves himself.
He is very skinny and actually looks healthy, but is this healthy practice?
I would only eat a little snippet each day and starve the rest of the day. In a way it taught me about discipline. But I would not recommend this for anyone to do for a long period of time.
Believe it or not more and more guys are doing this!
I think that they call that anorexia. Why is an already skinny guy starving himself? For that matter, why would anyone deny themselves that most basic need in life beside for air?
I was trying it last year but it was really a mess. I always get hungry. I always have a headache and I have a very stressed face. This is not the correct way of losing weight. Starving can stress you which in turn making your body secrete toxins in your stomach. This will then cause you stomachache, etc.
Yeah, doesn't seem so smart to me. Perhaps we ought to be figuring out why exactly we're starving ourselves. I've found that this question stumps a lot of people.
This may be a fast way to lose weight, but when you start eating regularly again, the weight will pile back on. The reason is simple: when your body is denied nourishment, it tells itself that it is starving, and to protect itself, the body slows down its metabolism, so that you're basically starving yourself for nothing. Starvation diets can lead to many health problems after prolonged use.
Fasting is the fastest way to lose weight. But, does starving really help in maintaining your health. When you starve, your body starts eating itself. Therefore, you slowly but surely start to get sick. Then, your body is prone to diseases like asthma. Exercising off more calories than your intake is great. Just eat something so your body can take in the vitamins and minerals. Don't make starving a habit, it causes more harm than good. Take care.
This seems crazy IMO, and done over a long period of time it could be really dangerous. Do these guys do weights too or anything? if so, that's even more crazier.
Starvation diet is not recommended because when your body believes that it’s about to starve, it will shut down its fat-burners and your body burns few calories. If taken extremes it may lead to death.

Exactly. Your metabolism in fact slows down so your body will not burn off any or very few calories meaning you could probably put on weight for a good while at the start so this diet would only work in the long run, but it really isn't healthy.
This diet is great for short term weight loss, but not for long term anything! Then he could lose lean muscle mass and have muscles deteriorate and accelerate aging!
But if it works , like fasting a few days a week, like a couple, then that 's no concern for health problems
I could have swore I posted in here before!! LOL
anyway the starvation diet is the best way to slow down your metabolism, shrink your stomach and make you look sickly!!
Bad Idea, try eating smaller portions more often
Starving is not a good idea, you may lose weight drastically but you will also get sick. Some will only eat carbo while others just protein to lose weight, either way, our body needs a balance meal everyday. I agree, small portions may help, slowly but surely. After all, good health matters most than the ideal weight we hope to achieve that is no longer realistic.
Whoa starving yourself to go o dieting. Do not eat 1 meal in the entire day. Its better to eat 3x a day and try to avoid eating those in between meals. You can substitute it by eating fruits instead of junk foods.
Starvation diet can be effective but ther can be negative effect on your health. My friend had tried it before and have been successfull in losing weight but right now he's dealing with bigger problem like ulcer.
Starvation dieting will cause your metabolism to slow down and eventually lead to weight gain. Eating more will boost metabolism and lead to weight lose. Eat 6 small meals each day. Eat non-processed fresh fruit for breakfast when you wake up and then another serving of non-processed fresh fruit for your second meal a couple hours later. For lunch, eat a serving of meat, preferably white portion chicken or fish, broiled or baked, not fried or processed. Add two servings of non-processed fresh vegetables to this meal. For your next meal, eat one or two servings of non-processed fresh vegetables. Then for dinner, eat another serving of meat, preferably white portion chicken or fish, broiled or baked, not fried or processed. Add one or two servings of non-processed fresh vegetables to this meal.
This is one diet that I will not try to do in my lifetime starving myself. First it is unhealthy, second you will be prone to illness or sickness due to lack of nutrients and third it may be fatal to your body and may cause complications.
I agree. No matter how much weight I may think I need to lose I would not try starvation. I believe fasting should only be done for religious reasons only.
It is best to research what diet plan you can take and which is the healthiest. I agree that there is no health benefits on starvation diet and will weaken our body as well.
