What's worse? A third will gain back more weight than what was lost in the first place and subsequently jump on another diet; a concept well-described as "yo-yo" dieting. The conventional approach to weight loss doesn't really concentrate on health and may leave you in quite a dismal state when all is said and done. Out of sheer frustration, this leaves many focusing on fad diets (i.e. - Atkins, Zone, Protein Power) or weight-loss drugs (i.e. - Xenical, Alli) or supplements (i.e. - ephedra), feeling like they have no where to turn.
I hope that pressure is alleviated with the creation of this subforum. Allow us to support you on your journey...whether it be a return from gastric bypass, your first try at a low-carb regime, reliance on the tried-and-true low-fat modification. You are not alone and many in similar places could certainly work as your ideal support group to landing you that much closer to your goal, whatever it may be.
Remember always:
"Health before Vanity..."
Though I can certainly appreciate aesthetics as much as the next.
Good Luck to you!
