CureYourBody.com is excited to announce the launch of
its new forums. The next several months will be critical to setting up the
forums the way you want them to be. So
if you feel we should add more categories or sub forums, please let us know.
We'll add sub forums on our own as well, if we feel a
large number of posts are being made on a specific topic. For example, "Colon Cleansing" was added as a sub forum to the Gastroenterology forum since there seems
to be a lot of posts for that specific subject.
What about exercise guys? Are you guys forgetting about this vital element of diabetes control? I personally think that if one is in great health(from diet and fitness) to begin with, then diabetes would be much less existent in today's society.
Pancreas transplants, etc... are probably last resort treatments and unlikely what the original poster had in mind.
As far as exercise, I think it is a great way to offer some benefit, but compliance rates (especially in type 2 diabetics) are dismal to suggest someone bank on that alone.

I wouldn't pig out on citrus fruits, personally. I tried that for awhile, based on the 80/10/10 diet and it made me feel jittery and required a lot of insulin. Also, that causes some people to have problems with their teeth.
I think the most overlooked vegetables that are needed are green veggies. Smoothies and homemade juices are great, as well as salads.

Cure diabetes? Diet and exercise will keep the disease controlled but not cure it. There hasn't been a cure found as of yet for diabetes.
Oh yes, Type 2 diabetes can definitely be reversed in many cases. Type 2 is a lifestyle disease. Many people have lost weight and cured themselves. Once they lose weight, often their insulin resistance is reversed. But, you are right, there is no cure for Type 1 yet. The pancreas is damaged, or the beta cells, or the immune system is attacking them or something and you can reduce your need for insulin but not eliminate it.
