I have tried few of the weight loss pills in the market.....dias......dras.....etc....which I felt not so effective....well wanted to know if there is any pill or easily available herb that I can pop up easily without having to worry too much on side effects and lose weight REALLY! I dont believe in the before and after photos shown on the sites ...they are way too much morphed and its sicking. Thanks in advance to the one that replies.

I don't think there is any quick fix for weight loss. If there were then someone would be very rich, the world would weigh less and there would be fewer drug companies claiming they could fix your weight problem. I think it comes down to a healthier lifestyle, better diet choices and getting moving. I may be wrong however - and I'm listening to see what suggestions anyone else has! smile

I am going to have to agree with Jasmine here. It really boils down to hard work and determination. A good friend of mine lost over 50 pounds through weight watchers but it took her well over 6 months. If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish the same thing through persistent diet and exercise.

I know that's probably not what you wanted to hear but I wish you the best of luck in attaining your goals.

While there might not be a quick fix for wieght loss, there are certainly a lot of herbal ingredients that can help speed up the process or put your body into a state which allows faster fat loss.

Being able to control glucose is one way. Manipulating your thyroid through herbs can do wonders, but can be real bad if you don't do things right or use a bad product.

This topic should really be moved to the Body Composition Alteration forum. Moderator?

I used to weigh 300 pounds myself, and I just started drinking more water and getting plenty of exercise. In less than a year I lost over 100 pounds! I didn’t have to pay for those expensive weight loss pills.

Thanks for the support guys. I am slowly coming out of a-pill-can-pound-your-pounds notion. I understand it takes a lot to bring down the added weight. Probably add more of determination and will power to bring that unfortunately accumulated fat.

But welcome others' views as well. Thanks in advance.

I think for most people – it requires just simple determination.

Thanks for the great inspiration. So just drinking more water an excerise is all that did it for you?

You know what they say – garbage in, garbage out. You eat less garbage you put out less ‘junk in the trunk’

Everyone should also be aware that sometimes large weight gain can be an indication of something more serious that you should see a doctor about. The solution is not the same for everyone!

Diet pills will surely help you, but of course it needs total determination and help from yourself too. Discipline yourself, eat right and exercise regularly. Surely you will lose that unwanted pounds.

Actually with my stature, i should be looking for a pill that adds a few pounds in smile. Still, a friend of mine went for herbal supplements for loosing weight. Although her weight showed little change in the small time period she was taking the pill, but she faced the music of some awful side effects. Guys do you have any knowledge of how to improve her situation, as she is sick on a regular basis, even though she has stopped with the pills. :(

Ron, Sorry to say, I cannot help you in this regard. Probably, you should put her immediately under medical attention. Probably with professional help, she can recover faster and better.

Yups, Vivian i will agree with you. You should leave particular tasks on particular people. In this case, taking information from any other source might make the situation more worse than it could have ever been for your friend.

Thanks Vivian & Monica. Probably, we might find a better solution at a physician. you are right there is no use of running here & there and bothering others for their opinion on this regard.

First of all...I would congratulate the person with the successful weight loss.

But, I'd be careful in how you define the solution - drinking water + exercise doesn't add up to 200 pounds in 1 year...this coming from working with people in similar situation - MANY OF THEM for the last 16 years.

Now, if you define that exercise as keeping you potentially lethally anorexic (perhaps not by weight calculation) - almost a purging activity (which is NOT always defined by vomiting) perhaps as 6 hours of your days and taking away from eating, then I may be mildly inclined to start accepting such a tally.

And, if you don't believe me - you can always find my own bio on the internet (max weight: 349 pounds, low weight 2 years later: 141, bodybuilding competitor weight: 225 pounds / low BF % ~6, current bodyweight: 208 pounds).

Now, lets keep in mind "weight" is a loose term, and I presume we are speaking of "fat" with loss. Any body composition analysis done?

Whenever you are trying to lose weight, you should concentrate on these three things which all work together in providing a healthier and quicker weight loss goal for yourself. I have found this combination really successful in my weight loss plans. The first thing is exercising and how much you can put forth into it. The more you exercise, the more results you will see. The next thing is dieting and the calorie intake. If you exercise more, technically you could eat more? Always watch what you eat.

It's not advisable to take weight loss pills when going on a diet. They only have psychological effects on your body. The real healthy diet includes exercises and eat healthy food.

Xenical helps to reduce and maintain your weight, as well as to minimize any weight regain. Xenical (orlistat) is a weight loss medication that inhibits the absorption of fat in your body rather than suppressing your appetite. Xenical is useful for long term use and has been shown to be effective for 1-2 years. Dietary fats are inhibited from being absorbed by using Xenical and this allows about 30% of the fat eaten in a meal to pass through the digestive tract undigested.

I have read an article about xenical and this makes you poop all the time. My friend tried xenical once but he immediately stopped it because of that uncomfortable feeling.

Yes, allister that is really true. Xenical is the best weight loss pill but the consequence is that uncomfortable feeling. My friend tried this one and she lost 15pounds in 2 months.

Let's face it in the human mind we all are looking for a quick fix and we know that is not possible.... I joined a Gym 2 months ago and learning allot more about my body .... right now I'm toning more and loosing inches and now weight loss so I ask my Trainer and she replied.... 1st of all you need to find out how much calories your body needs, lets say it is 1500 & you only take in 1200 your body starts to store it and you don't loose any weight & do Cardio work out to loose weight.... the heart rate monitor helps tremendously to reach your fit point to help you to loose weight.

we all need to exercise, eat right & more often, stay away from pop- processed food, drink lots of water & account ability.

So far my results is, lost 3 inches, have more strength & energy, feel better, body mass went down, best of all I made some great friends .... brainwash yourself that you can do it.thumbs up

I haven’t tried any weight loss pills. My friend tried it once but it works for them. I’m still not in favor of taking diet pills and I’m kind of an old passion person - it’s no pain no gain.
