I was checking out the ingredients of DrFloras and I noticed psyllium husk as one of the major ingredients. What's making me think much about it is that some people say that psyllium can be harmful to the body in one way or another... which makes me think, should i really go for this?

Please let me know while I still have time to think about it smile

Although I'm not a fan of colon cleansing (but heard about it from my mother), I think it's not psyllium that's harmful to the body - isn't it the bentonite clay? Anyway, I don't know about DrFloras ingredients either.

Psyllium is a natural substance --- so I don't think there is any bad side effects, and therefore can be used as long as you feel like using it.

I think other colon cleanse products though contain senna - which is harmful and "habit-forming".

What is Psyllimax? I read a review about DrFloras (in another website) and it says that DrFloras has a patent-pending ingredient called Psyllimax... is it different from psyllium?

Psyllium Husk is basically fiber as it is essentially made up of complex carbohydrates. Psyllium Husk is extracted from Psyllium, a plant. It's the coating around the seed of the Psyllium plant, so it's completely natural.

Psyllium is important for many reasons.
Since it contains carbohydrates, it can help diarrhea.
It can help ease the pain of hemorrhoids and cystitis.
- Psyllium Husks have anti-inflammatory properties, and can be beneficial for those with diabetes. In some studies, it has been shown that Psyllium Husk can improve lipid control in Type 2 diabetes.
- aid in weight loss control
- maintains healthy cholesterol levels
- maintains healthy blood pressure levels
- treat IBS, and hemorrhoids.
- treat yeast infections.
- it pushes out mucoid plaque.

Psyllium Husk has no side effects, and can be taken alone as a fiber shake.

Just a note on taking psyllium (including DrFloras)... as soon as you make your shake, drink it right away. I don't feel like drinking it when it gets too thick. I even thought of taking it with ice cream to tolerate the texture.

I know! The texture is gel-like. After mixing the shake, drink it right away without stopping! Haha!
