I really want to go on cleansing & detox for a long, long time but can't figure out where I begin. I've read a couple of options, such as enema, but I don't want to go through it (because I don't want to, no explanations LOL!)
I also learned about different colon cleansing KITS (including DrFloras) but I still don't know how effective they are. Neither do I kow what to expect.
Can I get any support here? Do you feel weak? What about your BM, how often do I need to RUSH to the toilet?
TIA!

Before you begin, maybe you want to consider what your objective is.. why do you want to do colon cleanse? By doing that, your expectations shall be realistically set. Why the word "realistically"? If you read the other thread about weight loss and colon cleansing, you'll notice an imbalance between colon cleansing programme and weight loss... got the point?
About the different colon cleansing kits - you're right about that. If you check out the different threads here in CYB - Colon Cleansing forum, a couple of feedbacks are discussed for different products. It goes without saying that I used DrFloras because of the couple of good feedbacks here.
Get support here? Sure!
Feel weak? No. There are other side effects, but not feeling weak.
Rushing to the toilet - Not for me. I don't think DrFloras cause IBSs and all the concepts associated to it.
HTH.

I guess the type of cleansing that you choose will also depend on your lifestyle, because there are a lot of detox and colon cleansing options.
* fasting (juice fast, water fast) - There's already an existing thread here, you might want to check it out
* enema -Also a couple of threads here, although personally, like you, I wouldn't prefer doing that. There are even DIY at home enema kits, but I think it's not sanitary. So let's forget it, I know it's not an option for you anyway.
* Vegan diet - Check out the Vegetarian forum. Some are even raw foodists. I personally can't do it, but people who have more motivation can.
* Epsom salt bath - Ever heard about it? My friend just told me about it, but I don't exactly know what it has to do with detox & cleansing. I just know that epson salts is used for soaking feet.
* Cleansing products - Right now, I'm in DrFloras, because it suits my lifestyle best. Just to make it clear, let me give you an example - I have office work, 5 days a week, so I cannot afford to go on fasting (or I might collapse).
I hope this helps. Keep us posted!
PS. Sure, you can even start a thread for your support group.

I just want to share my 2 cents about some of those that you've posted.
ON ENEMA: I feel that it's unsanitary. How sure can you be that the equipment is clean/sterilized? Besides, will you be comfortable with the procedure (i.e. inserting a hose and sucking the content of your colon)?
ON FASTING: Wow, I honestly cannot do this! It needs a major lifestyle change. I have a colleague who tried this before, and while she was walking on the street, she just fell. Ouch ouch ouch!

Which of those colon cleansing alternatives have you tried? Why did it work/fail you?"

"I tried fasting - it has done me wonders, I will also recommend it. I'm using DrFloras right now because with my current lifestyle, I can't afford to be in that program.
But if you have the willpower and discipline to go for fasting, I highly recommend it. Maybe I can start with the fasting program again when I'm not as busy as a bee anymore."

Has anyone here heard about the master cleanse? I've learned about it from another forum. The feedback aren't identical. A lot of people are discouraged because of the major lifestyle change it entails. Plus, it can really make you weak.

Oh, I also tried fasting. I didn't complete the program because I really got weak (at the rate that I was going).

This is a very nice forum! I hope I am welcome too. I haven't read all the posts in the Colon Cleasning thread yet (I'm just about 60%), but the recommendation for DrFloras seems to be a unanimous response. However, I am not sure if I am ready to go through a colon cleanse program just yet, I have hesistations, much so that I am a first-timer about this.
I want something natural. Is DrFloras natural? What about master cleanse (btw, is it true that you can lose 10lbs in 10 days with this program?), I read about a couple of positive feedback about it, but I don't know if I can do it.

"Hello charlotte1980! Welcome (although we're both newbies in colon cleansing)
And charlotte1980's question is actually a good one. Is DrFloras natural? What are the ingredients of this supplement?"

Thanks. Apparently, all of the mentioned ingredients are natural, right?

It's about $50/visit I believe. But don't take my word for it, I haven't tried either.

Out of curiosity, why would you not recommend enema? Have you had a bad experience with it?

Isn't that an unhealthy way to go? You are depriving yourself of valuable nutrients.

I was doing OK when I did the fasting. In fact, I was motivated to do it again, until I got very busy, started a full-time job, so that's when I decided to seek for an alternative to fasting.

I believe that I've mentioned in this thread that I haven't done enema - EVER.
Why will I not recomment? I believe I've mentioned it in another thread, I just think it's unsanitary. Imaging putting a "dirty" (I'm just assuming) tube inside your body?
That is just my opinion. To each, his own.

Glad to know everything worked well for you. Good luck on your search.

I already received my Mini Cleanse! I'm excited, but I think I have to wait until the weekend, just so I avoid any unpleasant side effects.

Hello everyone, I am brand new to this forum and this is my very first post!! The reason I am here is because of some research I am doing on colon hydrotherapy and came across this site.
I must say that as a Certified Colon Hydrotherapist, with over 9 years experience and hundreds of satisfied costumers, I am greatly disturbed by the misinformation promulgated on this site and in this forum about colon irrigation.
Properly administered, colon irrigation is both safe and effective.
For instance, and this was the page I came to that initiated my interest and response in this thread/forum..
http://www.cureyourbody.com/colonic-irrigation says this...
"Another severe problem associated with colonic irrigation is the risk of infection."
While it is true that the use of improperly sanitized instruments can and do cause cross-contamination (which happens almost exclusively in hospitals and dental offices), MOST colon hydrotherapy centers do not use reusable nozzles. In fact, 99% of colon hydrotherapy centers use sterile, ONE TIME USE, plastic nozzles. So there is NO risk of contamination.
Another claim was this..
“Those who undergo colonic irrigation are also at risk of electrolyte imbalance.”
Again, absolutely not true. Here is a study done to show that the lie spread out through anti-colonic antagonists is simply without scientific basis.
http://www.cleanmycolon.com/pdfs/electrolytes.pdf
“Perhaps one of the biggest dangers of colonic irrigation is its lack of regulation”
While it is true that the colon hydrotherapy industry is not GOVERNMENT regulated, it certainly does not mean that it lacks high standards within its community. For instance, ‘The International Association of Colon Hydrotherapist’ or “I-ACT” is a self-regulating organization with several hundred members who were required to take training in anatomy and physiology, hygiene and other health related courses. Then the candidate is tested on these topics and then thoroughly trained on the equipment they will be using.
I’m trying to keep this short, so I’ll close by saying in all my years of practice, NOT ONE person has had a life-threatening experience due to the procedure—NOT ONE! I had one person vomit during it because she disobeyed the admonition to not eat for 2 hours before. But this is it!! With hundreds of clients, no fatalities!! Can the medical profession say the same thing from their procedures, even being REGULATED?
