Don’t worry it will not hurt your dog. It will only cause problems if your pet ate a bunch like 5 gallons of Vicks. Veterinarian also told us that a small amount will not hurt them but you shouldn’t let them lick it on a regular basis.

Yes, James you’re correct. If your pet accidentically ate Vicks vaporub it is not fatal to them. Try to store the vaporub on a safe place that your pet won’t get the next time.

I have read a same topic like this when a dog accidentally ate Vicks vapor rub. Just a little amount that was eaten it won’t harm your pet. A little advice, don’t put your meds that can be reach by your pets as well by your children.

Thanks for all the advices and information that you have posted. I would definitely put the vicks on my first shelves.

I thought that your dog is a puppy when this incident happened. Usually, if the dog is still a puppy severe conditions may occur because of their immune system. Since your dog is already older, he might have a stronger immune system.

Your dog has a strong immune system and hasn’t got any serious ailment form eating this thing. My advice is that store your meds and other chemicals that can’t be reach by your dog or by your children.
