I read somewhere that depression is linked to abdominal fat or vice versa? What are your thoughts on this?

Research shows that depression also a cause of obesity. Once you are depressed the tendency is that you will focus on other things to forget what you are depressed on. So they instead eat and eat, causing them not only abdominal fat but being obese.

I can only add something from past experience in working with people/clients with these two symptoms simultaneously.

Depression and fat are parallel symptoms caused by an underlying weakness in the liver, blood/lymphatics, and endocrine system.

Just to clarify . . . When a person is depressed, you're not necessarily dealing with a rational thinking process. So, to ask them "what part of their life are they not addressing?" is not the way to help a person. It's implying that their health problem is their fault. That will only make them more depressed.

When a depressed and/or overweight person goes to a professional for help, I believe they'd like to feel that they're spending their money to get 'fixed.' It's a cop-out to throw the problem back at the client.

During my process, I've been successful (thankfully) at making the tonics (from scratch) necessary to feed the liver, give attention to the blood/lymphatic system, and then . . . in the final stage (in about week 2 or 3) start the person on an endocrine tonic that feeds the endocrine system thereby strengthening it to supply the brain with the chemistry needed to be healthy and happy. Also, the same tonic will strengthen the endocrine system to re-structure the weight problems and any possible food cravings. We're talking about the digestive hormones as well as metabolic hormones.

That make sense? cureyourbody.com/forums/viewforum/114/

Yes, depression also affects the way we eat. Its two ways one is you get more appetite and second you don’t have any urge to eat. When your depression triggers weight gain, it is not usually our abs gets the fat it’s distributed throughout our body.

Depression can cause a lot of negative things to us and it could lead to death as well. Being obese is one of the end results of being depressed, that’s why cheer up and get out of depression.
