There's a lot of tricks we know how to cure hiccups. Any scientific explanation why this happens sometimes? Does it implicate any health disorder?

if it lasts only for a few minutes, then it does not indicate a health problem. but if it last for days, then there could be a major irritation in your diaphragm, kidney failure, digestive disorders, and chest problems.

Hiccups are caused by your diaphram being out os syn when breathing. Best way is to drink 1 glass of water and avoid burping and hiccups will be gone. There is no such medicines for these.

It is a sapasm on the diaphragm. To remove it try to take a deep breath and old the air on your lungs as long as you can. Or try to do drink water and avoid to burp to stop hiccups.

I know this sounds bizzare but it really does work.

When you get the hiccups, have someone stand behind, put their fingers over your ears (NOT IN THEM) and at the same time you drink cold water. I promise they will be gone in an instant. I cannot explain it but if anyone else can be my guest. This is a trick taught to me by a friends elderly grandmother.

Good luck!

To eliminate hiccup just drink 1 glass and water and avoid burping. When you burp, it releases the air and instead of compressing them in your stomach.

Hiccups develop when there is a sudden rush of air going to the lungs and to the larynx. Too much drinking of alcohol, coughing and laughing are the main cause of hiccups.

Paper bag method is not a reliable technique for removing hiccups. Drink a glass of water and try not to burp. Your hiccups will be gone in a matter of seconds.

Actually it is. In doing so, you increase carbon dioxide levels in the blood, which may decrease the sensitivity of the vagus nerve in the brain. That nerve, one of the longest in the body, sends branches to many muscle groups, including those in the diaphragm.
One can boost carbon dioxide levels by holding one's breath, by rebreathing the air exhaled into a paper bag for a few minutes, or by slowly sipping a glass of water without pausing to take a breath.

I didn’t use the paper bag method when removing hiccups. I still drink a glass of water and I don’t burp afterwards.

Well said Cj but I also tried that paper bag method and it really doesn’t work. I always drink a glass of water to remove my hiccups.

I used the paper bag method whenever I’m experiencing hiccups. I have tried drinking a glass of water and I ended up drinking 4 glasses after my hiccups gone.

Thanks Marian for that reply. I always get hiccups when I drink water and I’m wondering what the cause is.
