When a person has swallowed a poison, vomiting should be induced quickly unless the poison could cause further damage if vomited. Examples of substances that should not be vomited include sharp objects, petroleum products, lye, and acids.

Syrup of ipecac is generally used to induce vomiting.

if the poison is not corrosive, then induce vomiting right away. but make sure the victim is still conscious.

What would be another first aid when a person was poisoned aside from vomiting?

Drinking plenty of water is one of the first aid when a person has been poisoned. Being hydrated helps our body to remove the poison.

IMO, it depends on what type of poisoning you are dealing with. The advice of the water being a first aid works well for "food poisoning".

Today Castor Oil is still internally used as a stimulant laxative for chronic constipation. Externally it can be used for various skin irritations and industrially it is used in everything from paints to lubricants.

Excessive ingestion of castor oil can cause various symptoms such as nausea, fainting & dizziness to name a few.

Aspirin is also given when they are poisoned. It helps remove the poisoned food or fluids out and prevents worsening the situation.

Yup, that’s correct CJ. We have to be sanitized everytime by washing our hands, face and avoiding eating foods that’s associated with this disease.
