Hello Everyone!!!
I just joined the site for some hopeful inspiration. I will be 35 this year, live in Iowa, and I have 2 children. I could stand to lose around 60 pounds. I have just started walking to try and get myself in shape. I find it easier to get up earlier and walk before work then to walk in the evening. I am sure I eat all the wrong things and of course I really enjoy all foods. I have tried to cut down on my pop intake but that makes for a raging headache for me. I am looking forward to chatting with and meeting new people who will give me the motivation I need to shed the pounds. grin

Hey CountryGal! Good to see another female, again. Iowa, and Indiana, looks like we got the Midwest covered! Hehe! How are the floods in your area? Good idea cutting down on the pop. I quit drinking pop when I got in high school. I dont get the headaches, but my boyfriend always whines when he doesnt drink pop. Try going to diet, that is what I am trying with him, and it seems to be working!

Hello there Country Gal.

Hopefully this site will provide the inspiration you need.

I think many of us find it much easier to accomplish exercise feats in the AM. Heck, if I personally waited until later in the day; I think the only thing I would do is accomplish all the reasons why it might be "ok" to get my exercise accomplished "tomorrow." In other words, the longer the day progresses, the more excuses that arise.

I have met very few people that reference soft drinks as "pop" outside of New York, so that is pretty enticing. Have you always been located in Iowa?

Since the Iowa storms, has everything with you and your family been ok? I do wish everyone well over there.

Thanks for your reply. I have lived in Iowa most of my life except for a short stay in New York and a little longer stint in Texas. I have always referred to it as pop. It makes me smile to hear you say that.
My family has not been affected by the terrible Iowa storms. We live within 50 miles or so of the Boy Scout Camp and the flooding is on the other side of the state. We are very fortunate. We have had plenty of rain with the river that runs by our town nearly coming out of its banks but it receeded quickly. We have also spent time in the basement with the tornado whistle blowing in town a few times. We have been very lucky. My prayers go out to all the families who have lost loved ones, their homes, really if you think about it everything they own is gone. What a terrible thing.
Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks again for the response.

Well let me see...... I had two kids while working full time....and oh yeah I went to back to college. Maybe it could have been stress?,....not having time to spend with my kids and husband let alone time to work on my own self..... but I am glad my 60 pounds was such a shock to you.

I didn't mean to offend you Country Gal, I am so sorry if it came off that way.

It just pains me to see people allowing them to get to more than 20 pounds overweight.

This forum has some good advice so I hope you benefit from them
