CureYourBody.com is excited to announce the launch of
its new forums. The next several months will be critical to setting up the
forums the way you want them to be. So
if you feel we should add more categories or sub forums, please let us know.
We'll add sub forums on our own as well, if we feel a
large number of posts are being made on a specific topic. For example, "Colon Cleansing" was added as a sub forum to the Gastroenterology forum since there seems
to be a lot of posts for that specific subject.
I have been diagnosed with Lymphedema. It is effecting my lower body, pretty much from the waist down. This makes me extremely tired and very sore. At times my legs/ankles/feet swell so much they weep! I need to loose about 50 pounds and want to know if a Hoodia product could help with suppressing my hunger and what might I take as far as a supplement to give me more energy, or is there anything? I might also have Rheumatoid Arthritis (mother has it and I seem to have a lot of the symptoms - being checked for it)....so anything that can help with the energy would be greatly appreciated.
I am sorry for all the pain and suffering you are experiencing. With everything that is wrong with you, I firmly suggest consulting with your doctor before trying anything herbal or otherwise for weight loss and energy. It could make your condition much worse. It sounds like you are also suffering from severe water retention. Have you asked your physician about maybe using a diaretic (helps with water retention)? That may help with the swelling in your legs and feet. I am sure there are lots of items on the market for weight loss and energy, but be very careful about those when you have medical conditions. Like I said above, they can make your situation worse. Good luck to you.

This scenario certainly requires careful consideration. I am curious as to what your current doctor-prescribed regime is?
Are you taking any diuretics ("water pills") currently? Because you come with a diagnosis, I will assume you have seen your physician.
Are you keeping sodium levels below 2,100mg per day (for starters)? Unfortunately, this restriction seems to take about 2 months in order to have any level of appreciable effect.
Have you been coached about elevating your legs at night to avoid pooling of liquids in the legs? Now, you should also try (when awake) to move around as much as possible (in other words - sitting for too long and/or standing for too long can both equally play the role of burden).
As for supplements:
Butcher's Broom (150mg 2-3 times per day)
Flavanoids (courmarin, hydroxyethylrutosides, diosmin, hespiridin, and quercetin)
Selenium
Vitamin C
I wouldn't get too much more exotic than that withough knowing your prescription med situation FIRST.
I have asked a lot of questions here and await your response to adequately fine tune suggestions.
