Is it true that if a child is involved early on in gymnastics, this stunts his/her growth?

I have no medical proof or anything but I did gymnastics when I was young and now my height is 5'6", so I would have to say it didnt stunt my growth

Gymnastic doesn’t affect the growth of a child. Children who are involved in sports are didn’t suffer on growth issues sometimes it also helps them grow much higher in height.

My kid wants to try gymnastics but I’m scared she might get injured.

It depends on your child’s perspective. Let your child watch the sports first before joining the sports. Sometimes kids don’t want the sports or activity that they are joining in. They might get bored and not finish the course.

Thanks mango for a wonderful advice. I would let my child choose what activity he wants to do.

You’re welcome, krissy. I think you are just very supportive to your kid and that is good to hear.

I have asked him what sports activity he wants and likes to join the baseball team. Now, I’m looking for the coach in our community who’s running the baseball team. hello

Baseball or soccer is a good sport for your kid. It’s also good to let them join sports team to boost morale and socialize with other kids.

I always encourage my kid daughter to enroll in gymnastics but she doesn’t have any interest about sports.

Don’t force your kid into sports or any activity if they are not interested. Better to show them first so that they will have an idea about the activity you want them to pursue.

Check the yellow pages and start calling all gymnastic centers in your area. Ask if they have tumbling classes. Most gyms have special classes specifically for cheerleaders who want to gain tumbling and flexibility skills only
