Has anyone read this book by Dr Carolyn Dean?
Is it good / bad/ or plain avoidable?

Dr. Dean’s work on “Death by Medicine” proved that 784,000 people die prematurely every year in the U.S. due to modern medicine. This paper stunned the health community and propelled her into greater advocacy regarding the abuse of medications and the suppression of dietary supplements. Dr. Dean feels that taking responsibility for one’s own health is the biggest step we can take that will help solve our current health care crisis.

Is there any new findings in her work? I am not able to find this book, it does sound interesting.

And therefore, what? Alternative medicine is better than Modern/Western Medicine?

That’s why it is called alternative medicine. This type of medicine is not a replacement on the modern treatments we have.

Some of the medicines that are being invented seem to have some side effects. We should be careful of buying medicines without any doctor’s approval.

IMO, a physician should be held accountable if they do not take the time to know the patients medical history and prescribe the wrong medication.
As for otc medication, you are taking that at your own risk if you are not consulting a physician.
There are sooo many forms of alternative medicines and practices, so to each his own.

This is a case to case basis. If the scenario is an emergency a doctor should not look anymore on the records because the patient is already on a critical condition.

Researchers and scientist are now carefully checking and examining the drug that they have created. They are doing many tests and check if there will be side effects to human, so that they could avoid having bad effects to us.

Even with all the tests and research, it does not prevent prescribing or administering the wrong medication or death if the patient is allergic to said medicines.
