CureYourBody.com is excited to announce the launch of
its new forums. The next several months will be critical to setting up the
forums the way you want them to be. So
if you feel we should add more categories or sub forums, please let us know.
We'll add sub forums on our own as well, if we feel a
large number of posts are being made on a specific topic. For example, "Colon Cleansing" was added as a sub forum to the Gastroenterology forum since there seems
to be a lot of posts for that specific subject.
The Body Mass Index (BMI) is a tool that can be used to tell how healthy a person's weight is. You can use the BMI to find out if you're a healthy weight for your height.
If you know your height and weight, you can work out which weight range you're in using the simple steps outlined below.
* Take your weight in kilograms (kg) and divide it by your height in metres (m).
* Then divide the result by your height in metres (m) again.
For example, if you weigh 70kg, and you're 1.75m tall, your BMI would be 22.9 (70/1.75 = 40 and 40/1.75 = 22.9).
Unfortunately, there are a LOT of mishaps (i.e. - doesn't differentiate sexes, doesn't take into account what type of body mass is in discussion - muscle vs. fat, etc...) we know these days behind why the BMI is a less-than-stellar measurement, though it still proves useful in some tried and true formulae.
There are many more sophisticated measures in existence for you to use these days.
