Blood is donated by human volunteers, who can give blood as often as every 8 weeks.

To donate blood, you must:

* Be at least 17 years old.
* Weigh at least 110 lb.
* Be in good health.

The process of blood donation and the handling of donated blood in the United States is regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Honestly, I'm not sure if it's okay to donate blood if you have CHF. Although it appears that yes, it may relieve the problem of congestion, it is still best to have yourself screened before donating blood. Anyway, there's always a screening procedure if you're planning to donate blood (like in Red Cross), so you can see there if you're qualified or not. Hope this helps. smile

People say that it’s better to donate your blood. You can help an ailing victim and it can renew the circulation of your blood system.

Yes, that’s right Joe. When you donate your blood, you could extend the life of an ailing victim who needs your blood and also it could clean and regenerate new healthy blood.

Blood donation is a good way to practice our humanitarian side. It helps save lives and cleans our blood system.

I still prefer to give blood to the person who is in need. It could save and prolong their life. The problem is that I have hypertension and my doctor told me not to do this.

After a person donated blood, they must drink beer in order to create new streams of blood. I don’t have any idea if this is a myth or a fact.

It’s better to give and extend a person’s life. That’s an honor for the person who donated blood and save a life.
