I did it for 12 days in January and temporarily lost 15 pounds. I did not feel hungry and I cleaned out my system. I highly recommend the "lemonade diet" every so often.

I found a health food store that carries the products for the recipe . Did you eat for the first couple of days? or go straight into it?

Like other fad diets, detox regimens promise quick weight losses that are ultimately unsustainable. They're based on "junk science" rather than a true understanding of how the body works. Worst of all, extreme diets like the Master Cleanse can cause serious side effects in vulnerable groups.Be careful.

Dozens of books and hundreds of web sites promote "detox" regimens. Spas invite dieters to spend thousands of dollars to starve themselves in exotic locations. But many dietitians and medical experts say these diets are pointless at best and dangerous at worst.

I agree with Neoscythe--be careful. Check with your doctor. These detox programs are scams designed to clean out your wallet--not your colon. I'm 63 and have had two colonoscopies. I was able to watch the monitor both times and there was literally nothing in my colon--and I have never used any of these products. When I used the doctor's clean-out procedure there was none of this stuff they show in the advertisements. Eat healthy and exercise!

Yikes! and they say there are lots of stuff blocking the passages of our bodies and that's why we dont lose weight. Thanks for this. I almost tried it. But actually I think the master cleanse drink is free since you can make it on your own. it's the guide that you need to pay for.

The master cleanse diet progam is good in cleansing and removing the unwanted fat in our body.

I know this is an old topic, but I know someone on Master Cleanse, guess what happened to her? She had a block out and suddenly collapsed. So if you're an active person, I don't think it's for you. Just stay home all the time and avoid tiring activities.

I know! I've heard and read a couple of stories! Just think about it, how can you survive by just taking lemons & maple syrup & cayenne pepper & who-cares-what's-in-there?!

Besides, will this not lead to ulcer?

Re: Stomach ulcer

I think it's possible. Lemon juice is acid, and you take it on an empty stomach. Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!

I wouldn't dare to, not even if I'm in a long holiday.
