CureYourBody.com is excited to announce the launch of
its new forums. The next several months will be critical to setting up the
forums the way you want them to be. So
if you feel we should add more categories or sub forums, please let us know.
We'll add sub forums on our own as well, if we feel a
large number of posts are being made on a specific topic. For example, "Colon Cleansing" was added as a sub forum to the Gastroenterology forum since there seems
to be a lot of posts for that specific subject.
A lot of my friends who work out have advised me to lift weights in order to lose weight. However, I'm a bit scared to do so because I don't really want to "bulk up". Advise?
According to experts, the sport that was once confined to bulky bodybuilders is now being embraced by the average guy looking to drop a few pounds and beef up his physique, as well as the average gal looking to tone up and strengthen bones and muscles as she heads into middle age. Weight lifting not only helps you to look better, but it can play an enormous role in your quality of life as you age particularly for women, since it definitely helps increase bone density, which diminishes with age. And unlike other forms of exercise that burn calories only while you're working out, weight lifting keeps on incinerating calories for hours after you stop. It increases your metabolic activity for the entire day, not only when you are challenging your muscles, but also during the repair process that occurs when you stop working out.
To loose weight I can suggest you to do exercise instead of weight lift. Beside that you should take nutritional food as it is also needed to get good good health without having extra weight.
If you arel looking to look good in the mirror and not really concerned with what the scale says....i say weight lifting with the proper nutrition would be more beneficial than cardio....

Girls dont bulk up because we dont have the testosterone like men. You will just get trimmed.
Instead of lifting weights it's better to do cardio vascular exercises. If your target is to lose weight then cardio exercise is the best way to lose fat rather than lifting weights.
Yes, taebo is an effective way to loose weight and considered as a cardiovascular exercise. Taebo is not an extraneous exercise because it does not use any form of weight just your body only.

This is right. Also, weight lifting keeps your heart rate in a good fat burning zone. Most people doing cardio get their heart rates up too high and hence never burn fat.
Yes, girls only need to tone their body and not adding muscles. Effective way to be fit is to cardiovascular exercises like running, swimming and aerobics.
Some women also get their body bulk up. If you saw the woman wrestler in WWE (Chyna), she has a huge body and she looks like a man. Maybe she is taking testosterone pills.
I don’t like women bulking up muscles, they look like men they have those big muscles. I think they also use testosterone hormone to build those big muscles.
