I think it is similar to any Animal Assisted therapy program where interaction with animals can help your psychological well-being. Have no idea though if there is any special advantage with a dolphin. However, just a doubt- Do you have this option in UK?

I check it out...Ongoing research at universities and dolphin centers around the world suggests that the sounds that dolphins make when they communicate underwater have a therapeutic effect. It is believed that swimming with dolphins, due to their sonar function, improves a person's immune system and stimulates the production of hormones and neurotransmitters, which are responsible for sensations such as peacefulness, happiness, self-awareness, and high self-esteem. My son is an ocean animal lover, i'm sure he will be delighted with this idea, thanks for bringing it up! bouncy smile

Karen, no it's too cold to swim with dolphins in the UK, we would have to go to the USA to swim with them! - I would love to do it but I'm not sure that it has been proven to be effective to a scientific level. A lot of animal activists are now saying that it is detrimental to the health of the dolphins.

I just read that dolphin therapy has no proven benefit. It's just for the sake of experience, right?
