Down's Syndrome is related to a gene problem that occurs before birth. It is a set of mental and physical traits caused by said gene problem. People with Down's Syndrome can have below "average" intelligence(varies from person to person), and physically they can have features such as short arms/legs, flat face and a short neck. there is no cure and it is a lifelong condition. Other health conditions may present themself in people with Down's Syndrome.

Down’s syndrome usually affects new born babies. Babies born with Down’s syndrome will have higher incidence of heart disease. The causes may be genetic and inherited or associated with non-cardiac problems.

Here are some basic signs to determine if your baby has a DS. Babies born with down syndrome will show some of the common characteristics of DS such as epicanthal fold in the eyes, brushfield spots in the iris' of the eyes and simean crease in the palm of the hand.
