How do you relax after a hard days work? Do you use any special technique? Please share it with the forum members. Thanks.

That's a very good idea. I also wonder how Dr. Houser relax, apart from sleeping, of course. I have a different need, for me, work relaxes me, it's my refuge, it keeps me sane, sort of security and before sleeping, a good entertainment (inspiring show, book etc.) or a nice bath ( not in a hurry, no kid's whining etc. ) will make me satisfy to look forward to another day and helps me get a good sleep.

I listen to my favorite music. Select the type of music that lifts your mood or that you find soothing o calming. I go for a walk after dinner or take a long bath. Relaxation as an important necessity of life, like eating or sleeping. It's a key to staying well and keeping balance.

I've devised a certain regimen for relaxation. Soon after a hard days work, I do meditation for 10 minutes which makes me forget my hard days work. Then, I go for an evening stroll for about half an hour. This is how I relax everyday.

I usually relax by taking a nice warm bath, or sleeping. I don't have time to go to spa salons, so I make myself one at home. bouncy smile

After a week of stressful and tiring office work i usually go to a spa and get a warm and relaxing massage. This eases the tension from work.

After the end of the day, talking to someone you love, someone who understand how you really feel, that's relaxation for me. Nothing compare to a good conversation shared at the dinner table. I will surely have a good sleep afterwards.

When you feel stressed after a long day, you can:

Take slow, deep breaths.
Soak in a warm bath.
Listen to soothing music.
Take a walk or do some other activity.
Meditate or pray.
Take a yoga class.
Have a massage or back rub.
Have a warm drink that doesn't have alcohol or caffeine.

Researchers aren't sure if it's actually the act of laughing that makes people feel better. A good sense of humor, a positive attitude, and the support of friends and family might play a role, too. We change physiologically when we laugh. We stretch muscles throughout our face and body, our pulse and blood pressure go up, and we breathe faster, sending more oxygen to our tissues. But we all know that laughing, being with friends and family, and being happy can make us feel better and give us a boost even though studies may not show why. bouncy smile

At the end of a busy day, I have my dinner and then I take a long warm aroma therapy bubble bath with soft aromatic candles lit and soft mellow music. I may even have a glass or two of wine before lying down to sleep. Totally rested.
