Unfortunately No, not all antacids may be okay, but most people don't realise this, as we use antacids regularly without thinking what it contains. Some antacids contain salt, which you know will not help your blood pressure. So you have to check the label before you decide to buy an antacid. If you're taking in 900 milligrams of salt each time your stomach aches, you aren't doing your blood pressure any favors. You can find plenty of good choices, such as various calcium-containing antacids and magnesium-containing antacids, so read the label to see what you're getting!

If you're on a salt-restricted diet, and especially if the diet is intended to treat high blood pressure then you should avoid sodium and magnesium containing antacids like Alka-Seltzer or Mylanta/Gelusil.

Sodium bicarbonate antacids like Alka-Seltzer, Bromo-Seltzer contain baking soda. If you have a high blood pressure, it is better to avoid these antacids because of their high sodium content. If used often, they may interfere with heart and kidney function. BP patients should avoid antacids containing sodium bicarbonate.
