Maggot Therapy as it is is called is becoming more common again. The maggots are disinfected before use and they only eat the dead skin and tissue. It is also thought that they secrete substances that help to fight infection. Research has also found that post-op infections were non-existant if the patient had had Maggot Therapy before the surgery.

If there was rock-solid evidence that it would work, and if they knocked me out so that I couldn't see it, then yes.

It makes me feel better about it that the maggots are disinfected first!! I think I would have to close my eyes and think pretty thoughts though!

Leeches are now approved by the FDA! They are supposed to help restore blood circulation in blocked vessels and help to heal wounds.

If it's a matter of life and death, of course I would choose them rather than die. But if there are other courses of treatment, maggots and leeches would be at the bottom of my list
