Silent stroke: Small strokes that do not cause any symptoms. Silent strokes still damage brain tissue. The American Heart Association (AHA) says silent strokes are a lot more common than once thought.
Basically, silent strokes occur when small blood vessels in the brain become blocked or rupture. A silent stroke is not accompanied by the classic warning signs of stroke; in fact, someone experiencing silent strokes may not even be aware of it. But eventually, as blood and oxygen supply to the brain diminishes, cells die. This can lead to problems with memory or concentration. It can also create mood changes and lead to depression.

It’s possible to have a stroke and not realize it immediately. A new study found that nearly 11 percent of people who thought they were healthy actually had some brain damage from a ‘silent’ stroke. Silent strokes don’t result in any noticeable symptoms. people who’ve had a silent stroke are at higher risk for subsequent strokes.

- Sudden confusion, trouble speaking, or trouble understanding.
- Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes.

One type of silent stroke is Bell’s palsy. This occurs mostly on the face. Half part of it is numb, it’s difficult to chew and speak.

I think there is a therapy for bell palsy patients. They could ask a cardiologist to refer you to a therapist.

My mother’s doctor (a cardiologist) told us that physical therapist also treat people with bell palsy. They give them therapeutic exercises to re align and relax the muscle on their face.

Most of stroke ridden patients undergo physical therapy. This could help them regain their normal movements.

I think it is. Physical therapy is the only treatment for patients that have been stroked. They also need to drink their mainteance drug together with their therapy.
