CureYourBody.com is excited to announce the launch of
its new forums. The next several months will be critical to setting up the
forums the way you want them to be. So
if you feel we should add more categories or sub forums, please let us know.
We'll add sub forums on our own as well, if we feel a
large number of posts are being made on a specific topic. For example, "Colon Cleansing" was added as a sub forum to the Gastroenterology forum since there seems
to be a lot of posts for that specific subject.
I take a vitamin B complex + Vitamin C everyday. I also have a flax seed capsule whenever I remember to. I do not take any protein supplements. However, I was advised by a friend to start Chromium picolinate but she has no idea why she takes it.
She is a borderline Diabetic, so was wondering if this is only meant for diabetics, or if it really is advisable to take it...
There is an inverse relationship between chromium levels (a needed micronutrient for everyone) and the levels of insulin that exist in the general population. That said, well over 75% of the Westernized World have some level of insulin resistance, though I will let you be the judge as to whether or not you chose to supplement with this agent or not. To make matters worse, greater than 90% of the U.S. population is chromium deficient and it is VERY poorly absorbed.
As far as salts are concerned, if you chose to supplement with this agent, I would recommend chromium POLYNicotinate rather than chromium picolinate secondary to the fact that it is much better absorbed that the non-niacin-based variety. I am too inclined to suggest anywhere from 200-500mcg, BUT this will vary dependent upon bodyweight.
Chromium Polynicotinate will help stop binge eating and turn protein into muscle and convert sugar into energy and will help control hunger for weight loss because it is an appetite suppressent supplement. Is this true?
Chomium Picolinate is a trace mineral chromium is used as a dietary supplement. It's benefits include weight loss, lowered serum cholesterol and glucose, burned fat and build muscle. For diabetics, chromium increases the ability of insulin to reduce serum glucose levels.
Hi, Chromium picolinate is often highly touted for diabetes. What you want to give or use is not merely chromium picolinate but "GTF Chromiumn" the 'GTF' is for Glucose tolerance Factor. Here the chromium provided is as GTF Chromium yeast. Kind regards, Charles
