What are the tests that aging men and women need to undergo as they age, for preventive purposes? Thank you.

Research says that men and women over 50 should undergo screening exams, like tests for all kinds of cancer (especially the most common ones), diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, vision and hearing, TB, and osteoporosis.

What exactly are these common cancers, may I ask?

Some hospitals and health care facilities also give flu and pneumonia shots for people over 50.

Is TB common in USA or are you talking about Africa and Asia? Also is it really age related? or is it related to HIV infections?

After crossing the age of 50, one should undergo a thorough general medical check up. Recently, a relative of mine underwent a general check up in a routine manner. To his surprise, it was found that he had 3 arterial blocks and the doctors advised him to undergo a bypass surgery. He underwent the surgery and now he is normal. Had he not undergone the check up, may be, it would have resulted in either heart attack or stroke.
