My grandmonther has age related macular degeneration. Research says it is the number one cause of loss of vision in Americans age 60 years of age and older. She doesn't sew, read or drive anymore. I am really sad of her limited activities.

Macular degeneration can be treated by injections, photodynamic therapy, and laser therapy, but those are not cures. The disease may still progress even with the treatments. Sorry about your grandmother.

Sodas containing the chemical Aspartame may contribute to a gradual loss of vision, along with the many health detriments that Aspartame can bring. It can also cause memory loss and dizziness.

But sign of aging is loss of vision. Not etirely losing your vision. It is sometime hard to read using our naked eye thats why we are preferd to use glases in reading.

Yes, it is very effective way to prevent loss of vision. Studies show that elderly people who have undergone this treatment have been proven that they are not wearing their eyeglasses anymore.

Beta carotene and Vitamin A are good source of nutrients to prevent loss or poor vision. It helps strengthen the retina of the eyes for clear vision.

I guess the topic name should be “Loss of vision”. As we grow older, parts of our body deteriorate and one part of it is the eye. The eyesight becomes blurry and sometimes partial blindness.

You’re right. It should be “loss of Vision”. Getting serious about the topic, when people become older all of the body’s healthy parts also come to age. It’s better for a car you can just buy spare parts and replace it but humans we consume extra nutrients to keep our body still intact and strong.

I think if the cause of loss of vision to us is by aging, this could be treated by laser eye surgery. It cost a lot but you will not wear any glasses and you have a 20/20 vision.

Yes, it is. My aunt who has a cataract was treated with laser last year and now she can see with a 20/20 vision without any glasses.
