Has anyone here used a pet sitter that comes to your home? Do you like it better than boarding, and who/why not? Going out of town soon, and need to decide what to do. Thanks!

It's expensive compare to leaving your pet to a family member but professional pet care services are paid to provide all individual needs and care that your pet rightly deserves. They will also make sure you will enjoy worry free vacation by not disturbing you will phone calls and questions because they know exactly what to do. Bon Voyage!

Most of them will throw in extra services (like house-sitting) for free. Our gal took in the mail, papers, etc. and also rotated our lights so that it would look like someone was home. Plus, it helped our dog feel more comfortable because she was in her own home.

It helps if you have more than one pet as normally pet sitters charge on a per visit rate and not a per pet rate, whereas boarding is charged per pet rate. Like gumbo said, they sometimes even water the plants and take in the mail. So its like a house sitter not just a pet sitter.

I agree pet sitting although more expensive is better for your pet. Your pet stays where it feels most comfortable and secure - at home and does not have to travel to a strange place with new people and other animals; you never know what illness they could get from another animal.

I am still a little hesitant, and I think the best way is still leaving Hero to my next-door neighbor. Everyone in the internet poses as "a professional, well-trained petsitter." How do we know that? Are they licensed vets? If they are vets, why waste time petsitting?

I agree with Karen, they may be more expensive but I would prefer that my mutt was happy and comfortable within familiar surroundings.

In Japan, there is a house where they can leave their pets when they are on vacation. It's like a hotel for pets, whose owners leave their pets to these people and they take care of them when owners are gone for the holidays or vacations.

That’s cool. You can leave your pet and enjoy your vacation. There won’t be any more worries of your dog when you are on a vacation.

I hope there should be a hotel for dogs to stay if their owners are leaving for a vacation or a business trip. This could really help pet owners and not to worry about their pets.

This started in Japan and it’s great if they have it here in the US. This can help pet owners if they are going for a business trip or vacation and they can leave their pet here without any worries.

I’m looking at the internet regarding this type of pet sitting service but unfortunately there’s no one yet invented this idea.
