Probiotic food s are those which contain a live microbiological culture either as result of fermentation, culture of bacteria that are healthful for normal intestinal function. Exambles are Lactobacillus and bifidobacterium. While prebiotic food are non digestible food ingredient that beneficially affects the host by selectively stimulating the growth and activity of a number of bacteria in the colon and improves health. Examples include germinated barley and inulin based compound.

Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that may help preserve a healthy bacterial environment in the body, in the process possibly boosting immunity. Whereas Prebiotics are nutrients that are not digestible to humans but that do help good bacteria thrive in the gut.

Probiotics mainly help our body digeting the foods we eat. It is also a kind of bacteria that is inside the stomach that helps digestion of the food. In balance of the probiotics on our stomach may lead to constipation and other stomach aches and ulcer.

You have bacteria living in your gut. Some of them could make you sick, however there are also bacteria that are actually beneficial. These "friendly" bacteria help keep bad bacteria and yeast from growing in your intestinal tract. Bacteria also help make vitamin K and keep your immune system functioning properly.

I'd say Mika has an agenda.

Question is: What are you trying to accomplish through such a diet? From my experience in herbology, detox diets cannot/will not remove some of the conditions that cause most chronic diseases.
