CureYourBody.com is excited to announce the launch of
its new forums. The next several months will be critical to setting up the
forums the way you want them to be. So
if you feel we should add more categories or sub forums, please let us know.
We'll add sub forums on our own as well, if we feel a
large number of posts are being made on a specific topic. For example, "Colon Cleansing" was added as a sub forum to the Gastroenterology forum since there seems
to be a lot of posts for that specific subject.
In terms of calories a medium sized apple contains roughlt 47 calories, whereas a medium sized banana has 110 calories. As they are both essential for health in different ways (banana has potassium, calcium, vitamin C, B6 and carotene & an apple has amino acids), I would say that it comes down to personal preference as to which is better.
I wanted a relative comparison between an apple and a banana. Because, no useful purpose would be served by comparing an apple with an apple or an orange with an orange because the contents will be the same. I'm sure you will appreciate that.
Compared to the apple, the banana has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorous, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium.
Banana seems to be better than apple. Why not take banana as well as apple a day to derive the maximum benefit!
It really depends on what you are looking for....while i really enjoy the taste of a banana compared to an apple....i choose the apple as it doesnt affect my blood sugar to the degree that a banana does
Yes, I agree with the views of the moderator. I think sugar patients should avoid banana as it has high sugar content, instead they should go for apple. Thanks for your thoughtful suggestion.
I prefer bananas for the burst of energy they give me, however, I like to have an apple before I eat a main meal as I have been told that it makes you feel more full up, therefore are likely to eat less.
Both fruits are healthy so it’s better to eat them together. Apples give vitamin c while bananas give potassium and vitamin k. Bananas and apples are also good sources of fiber.
Don’t make the fruits compete with each other. We can eat them together since they give vitamins and minerals. They are also a healthy alternative to junk foods.
Jim I agree with you. We don’t have to put fruits into competition. All of them have vitamins and fibers which can help remove toxins and digest food properly.
These are very good for people eating apples and bananas. There are several person who like both or one of the other. For me, I always eat banana it helps me dispose well and when I eat an apple it gives me constipation.
